Long days at the beach, perfect warm weather and the sun shining down on your skin effects your body in more ways than one. Although these do sound like all of the necessary components for a wonderful summer spent tanning and relaxing, this could also land you in a, not so pretty situation.
It is important to keep in mind that these extreme weather conditions can be harmful to your skin and beauty. We are going to share with you a few summer beauty tips to keep in mind while you’re enjoying the beautiful weather.
1. Sunscreen
Whether it’s sunny, or cloudy, don’t skip the sunscreen. A weekend at the beach without sunscreen can result in sunburn regardless of the weather. It is best to apply your sunscreen at the beginning of each day along with your moisturizer.
2. Moisturizer
Speaking of moisturizer, this is one thing you will be glad you had on you on a beach trip. Although the sand feels wonderful between our toes, and the water feels refreshing, the mixture of salt and fine grains of sand has a serious drying effect on the skin. Apply moisturizer throughout the day to avoid getting overly dry and damaged skin.
3. Water
Do not skip the water! Your body can easily become dehydrated from hours spent out in the sun with no water. Keep a bottle on you at all times to ensure that you are providing your body with what it needs to stay in healthy condition.
4. Sunglasses
The sun is absolutely gorgeous, however, it does harm your eyes. Watching the sunrise or sunset, the constant reflection of sun off of the water and the bright white sand mixed together are a recipe for eye damage. Make sure you always have your sunglasses on hand.
5. Lip Protection
Lathering up on sunscreen is nothing new. We do it almost every day. However, one key area that most people forget to consider, is the lips. We’ve all experienced that slight lip discomfort after a long day at the beach, especially if you’re an avid chapstick user. There are lip protection options available for keeping the sunburn away. Make use of these to avoid blisters or cuts on this sensitive area.
6. Face Wash
Many people do not know this, but a number of face washes actually make your skin much more susceptible to sunburn. It is very important that you look for the label on your face wash. If your face wash does cause sunburn, make sure you stop use two weeks before your trip.
